Dawn was the first ever student from Astley Community High School to get into Cambridge University, fulfilling her ambition to study Zoology.  This was a combination of a lifelong passion for her subject, and a razor sharp intellect.

Arriving in Cambridge was a life-changing experienvce for Dawn, a step forwards she seized, quickly making friends with other students who shared her passons.  It wasn't all work either - Dawn joined Clare Boat Club, and through typical hard work and northern grit, rose up through the club into the First Ladies boat for the May Bumps in 1990.
